This event is for anyone who needs to retreat for a weekend, away from distractions, to move and breathe, explore, discover and heal the body, mind and senses in beautiful hill country near Austin, TX.


These past 12+ months have taken a toll on our bodies, minds, relationships, and ultimately, our lives. All of us have gone through some gain and loss, and for some, great gain and great loss. Change, whether perceived positive or negative, can be a stressor. I want to offer a weekend to destress, retrain and reboot [the nervous system].

This weekend retreat is about learning about, accessing and FEELING the 5 energies that regulate your body, mind and senses, AKA panca prana vayu. You will learn some interesting facts, hear some inspiring stories, and explore, discover, and develop practices that can begin or accelerate your healing.

We will also have some partner work. It's going to be AMAZING.. maybe even life changing!

This INTIMATE retreat will include:
*yoga exercises (asana, vinyasa, pranayama)
*hatha yoga bandha (locks) and kriya (purifications)
*meditation
*chanting Sanskrit and kirtan
*deep yoga talks and discussions,
​*partner work/non-asana (bring a partner or get paired)

*some free time.

Provided:
  • Yoga: classes/workshops, talks, meditations, chanting, percussion instruments
  • Accommodations: bed, plenty of bathrooms, showers, fully supplied commercial kitchen to prep your own meals. Some choose to share food.
  • Coffee, tea, & UV filtered water from the Earth

Bring your own meals or drive into town. I suggest eating very lightly this weekend. Yoga mat, blocks, strap, meditation seat/cushion, optional percussion instrument you have experience playing.

Grocery & restaurants 8 minutes down the road in Wimberley, TX. I suggest bringing your food (2 dinner, 2 breakfast, 1 lunch). For best results, I suggest eating minimally (not fasting).

Clean sheets will be provided but some like to bring their own sheets and pillows.

CANCELLATION POLICY: 100% refund if we cancel the retreat for any reason. If retreat is cancelled due to an Act of God, we will reschedule the event. Non-refundable should you choose to not participate in rescheduled event. All other guest cancellations are nonrefundable as we are within the cancellation policy window of the facility.

Short talk about PRANA, Kirtan/Meditation/Self-Guided Practice
Kirtan is call/listening and response singing/chanting designed to quiet the monkey mind and open the lotus heart. Bring a comfortable seat, and you may bring percussion instrument you know how to play. Ricky will lead. If you must come and go, please do it discreetly.. You are also welcome to do some self-guided practice in the back of the room during the live music if you like.

Saturday

6am - 7:30am
Breakfast
Coffee/tea provided. Full kitchen with supplies available if you'd like to cook. For best results, practice yoga with empty stomach, bladder and bowels. Do your neti pot before class.

8am - 12pm (with short breaks)
Discussion and Healing Vinyasa Yoga All Levels

Part I - Review of the 5 prana and theory on how we increase and regulate them for healing and transformation. If you like science, this will be fascinating!


Part II - Introduction to uddyana bandha kriya, agni sara, nauli kriya (purifications for your nervous system and internal organs)

SHORT BREAK BEFORE MODERATE ASANA PRACTICE

Part III - Slower paced vinyasa yoga practice to allow for modifications, adaptations and advancement for all levels. Bring your props for best results.

Part IV - After practicing our postures, we sit for pranayama, kirtan and extended meditation/relaxation/corpse. Bring a supported seat, e.g. meditation cushion.

12pm - 1:30pm
Lunch Break
Keep it simple! Avoid venturing far. I suggest you stick around and do your own cooking or eat some fruit and keep your stomach half empty.

2pm - 4pm
Lecture / Discussion
Yoga theory and/or group questions about your personal practice only. Expect some practices to accompany answers to your questions.

SHORT BREAK

4pm - 6pm
Postures Clinic and Strong Practice
Beginner to Advanced - you all will see and learn how to progress from beginner level to advanced. Learn what modifications will bring you closer to accomplishing. Learn about therapeutic applications and contraindications. Ricky will demonstrate and teach progression and modifications for advancing yoga postures. This is usually the strongest practice of the weekend. Please arrive with at least 3 postures you would like to learn. I will put together a custom sequence for the group. Bring your props for best results.

Cook in! There is a full commercial kitchen available in the lodge.
Relax! Go hiking on your own around the property
Star gazing with binoculars or telescope.
Soothe your muscles in the hot tub.

Breakfast

Healing Vinyasa Yoga and Mashing, All Levels
Guided partner mashing, followed by purifying hatha vinyasa yoga practice, pranayama, kirtan and meditation/relaxation. Mashing is a technique to break up adhesions to allow greater movement, plus it feels great!

11am - 1pm
Lunch break and pack your stuff

1pm - 2pm
Closing Circle
Satsang (community of truth), sharing, kirtan, meditation, etc.

Depart by 3pm
