THE NEUROSCIENCE OF YOGA
Not to be missed! Rare occurrence; first time teaching together in 7 years!
Neuroscience: the scientific study of the nervous system (the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system) and its functions.
Yoga: an ancient, multidisciplinary practice that creates positive change to the the nervous system through mindful movement, conscious breathing, concentration, meditation, life philosophy and more.

It's been 7 years since DeAnna Shires and I collaborated on a yoga event!
Join us for a deep dive into a philosophical, physical, emotional, and spiritual journey towards your best and highest Self!
Neuroplasticity, also known as brain plasticity, can be defined as the ability of the nervous system to change its activity by reorganizing its structure, functions, or connections. Authentic yoga practices can lead to changes in the nervous system, which could change the way use our brains, thus changing how we think, move, breathe, eat, and ultimately how we live our lives. When realized, this is truly a "game-changer".
This weekend retreat will offer yoga as both a work-out and a work-in. We will practice both yang and yin styles of yoga (active and passive). Expect to flow through hatha vinyasa (improvised Ashtanga for all levels), explore hatha yoga body purifications (kriya) for the internal organs, yoga for the nervous system, both practical and contemplative, introduction to Kunkalini Yoga to balance the brain/mind, yoga nidra (deep relaxation), nada mantra practices, partner body-work, community and networking.

From our caterer:
Hello! My name is Andrea; I am a solo mom and budding culinary entrepreneur. I can usually be found in my kitchen creating new recipes as one of my greatest passions in life is FOOD. My love for food is inspired by the people in my community and different cultures around the world. One of my favorite activities is hosting parties for any occasion, which could be the reason I became a chef. After my mother passed away from cancer, I started researching how we can use food, not only to make our taste buds dance, but also use it as a way to heal our bodies and prevent diseases. The ingredients I choose will always be as close to its natural state as possible that also fill your body with as many nutrients it craves. I offer a different option to eating healthy, no diets, no counting, just honest ingredients. I take your favorite classic meals and transform them into something your body will thank you for.
